Terms

The terms you are agreeing to

The short version: this is a measuring tool, not a doctor. It is free until 1 November 2026 and asks for no payment details before then. Your data is yours and you can delete all of it in one press. The two clauses worth actually reading are the second and the fifth.

  1. 01

    The agreement

These terms are between you and It's Sal, who operate It's Sal at itssal.com. By creating an account or using the app you accept them. If you do not, do not use it.

They should be read with the privacy policy, which covers what the app holds about you.

  2. 02

    This is not medical advice

It's Sal is a tool for measuring and logging. It is not a doctor, not a dietitian and not a clinical service, and nothing it shows you is a diagnosis, a treatment or a medical recommendation.

The metabolic phases on the dial are approximate. They are drawn from general figures, not from any measurement of your body, and where one ends and the next begins differs between people and between days. The calorie and macro targets come from a population equation and are a starting point to adjust, not a prescription.

Talk to a qualified professional before you change how you eat. Do that first if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, take insulin or other medication for blood sugar, have a history of disordered eating, are underweight, or are managing any diagnosed condition. The intake refuses to write a plan when you tell it about those, and that refusal is the app working correctly rather than a step to get around.

If you feel faint, confused or unwell, or your heart is racing, stop fasting, eat, and get medical help. Do not wait for a screen to tell you to.

  3. 03

    Your account

You must be eighteen or over. One account per person. Give an email address you can actually receive mail at, because it is the only way we can reach you.

Keep your password to yourself and use one you do not use elsewhere. What happens under your account is your responsibility. If you think someone else has got in, change your password and use the sign-out-everywhere control in settings, which retires every session.

The figures you enter are the figures the app works from. If you tell it the wrong weight it will write the wrong plan, and it has no way of knowing.

  4. 04

    What it costs

It's Sal is free for everyone until 1 November 2026. No payment details are asked for and none can be entered, because there is no billing in the app during that period.

After 1 November 2026 it costs $3.99 a month or $29 a year for the whole app. Before anything is charged you will be told inside the app, with enough notice to decide, and you will have to enter payment details yourself and agree to the billing terms then. Nothing you do now signs you up to a payment later.

Anything you logged during the free period stays yours. If you choose not to pay, you keep your account and your data, and you can export or delete it.

  5. 05

    The coach and the planners

The coach answers in prose, and the meal and training planners write whole weeks. All three are generated by a language model run by DeepSeek. Machine-written text is confidently wrong sometimes, and these are no exception.

Check anything that matters. Portion weights and calorie figures in a meal plan are estimates — read the pack. An exercise is a suggestion from a program, not from someone who has watched you move: warm up, start lighter than you think, and stop a session that brings on pain, dizziness or nausea, particularly a fasted one.

The app checks what comes back before it shows you anything. A generated week that would put a day below the calorie floor is thrown away rather than shown, and meals placed outside your eating window are moved inside it. Those checks catch arithmetic, not judgement.

Using the coach or a planner sends some of your information to DeepSeek. The privacy policy lists exactly what. If you would rather that did not happen, do not use them; the rest of the app does not need them.

  6. 06

    Using it properly

    Do not:

    • Break into, probe or overload the service, or try to reach another person’s data
    • Automate access, scrape it, or resell what it produces as your own service
    • Use it to give anyone else nutrition or medical advice
    • Upload anything unlawful, or anything you have no right to

Finding a security fault and telling us is not a breach of this clause. Write to security@itssal.com.

  7. 07

    What is yours

Your logs, your notes, your weigh-ins and your coach transcript are yours. Putting them into this app gives us permission to store and process them so the app can work, and nothing more. We do not claim ownership of them and we do not use them to build anything else.

The app itself — its code, its design, its artwork and its name — belongs to It's Sal.

  8. 08

    Availability

This is a small service run on one server. It will sometimes be down for maintenance, and it will sometimes be down because something broke. There is no uptime guarantee and no support commitment, free period or not.

Features change. Something you use today may work differently or be gone later. If a change would lose data, you will be told before it happens.

A fast in progress lives in the database, not in your browser: if the site is unreachable for an hour, your fast is still running and still correct when it comes back.

  9. 09

    Ending it

You can delete your account whenever you like, from settings. It is immediate, it takes every record with it, and it cannot be undone.

We can suspend or close an account that is being used to attack the service or to harm someone. Except where it would help an attacker, we will say why.

  10. 10

    Where our responsibility stops

The app is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, It's Sal is not liable for any loss arising from your use of it — including any decision you make about eating, fasting or training, and including anything the coach or a planner told you.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected by anything written here.

  11. 11

    Changes to these terms

These terms can change. The date at the top of this page moves when they do, and a change that affects what you pay or what leaves this server will be shown to you inside the app before it takes effect. Carrying on using the app after that is how you accept it.

  12. 12

    Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of the country in which the operator is established, and its courts have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in.

Before anything formal, write to hello@itssal.com. Most things are a misunderstanding and can be sorted out in an email.
